Port Lincoln - Salaried
This is the news job to get that broadcast career going! Southern Cross Austereo is looking for an energetic news all-rounder to work as a Video Journalist, producing local news in Port Lincoln, for our nightly SA regional nightly bulletin.
This Grade 1 Journalist position will see you relish the challenge of waking up every day to hunt down great local news stories, interviewing newsmakers making an impact in your community, and responding to breaking news events.
We are looking for a degree-qualified journo, who is an effective time manager, and understands story structure, from shooting the vision, to editing. You do the lot! It would be a real advantage if you had some knowledge of short form content editing on Avid Media composer or similar software. But we are happy to train you on that should you tick all the other boxes.
The successful applicant will have:
- The “news goods” and self confidence to deliver two local Tv packages a day from Port Lincoln, from the concept to delivery.
- A good news voice and personal presentation and communication skills.
- A dedicated commitment to producing quality content that is locally relevant to your region
- An eagerness to embrace the technical challenge of producing your own news stories, under the pressure of a daily deadline.
- An ability to work largely unsupervised and be content to do so.
To be considered for this position, applicants must have a broadcast journalism degree, and a current drivers’ licence. You will need to use your own vehicle in this role, and a car allowance and mobile phone is part of the package.
