SCA currently have an opportunity open for an experienced and passionate Journalist keen for their next step up the career ladder. We are one of Australia’s most dynamic entertainment-based media companies, with a culture of high performance.

Based in Perth, you’ll work alongside our experienced metro news team and deliver on-brand, local compliance news updates for SCA stations in regional WA.

This is a sensational opportunity for a confident and motivated journalist who is seeking to start or further develop their career. What we are looking for in you:

  • An ability to produce accurate, punchy and creative news bulletins
  • Previous experience in a commercial newsroom preferable
  • A love of working in both a solo and team environment
  • Excellent knowledge of news issues
  • Confident, conversational reading style which suits our brands
  • Commitment to work different shifts
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritise projects of differing timelines
  • Thorough knowledge of news operations and systems, particularly NewsBoss
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • An understanding of emerging platforms, including podcasting and Smart Speakers
