Southern Cross Austereo is looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Broadcast Support Engineer to join its Technology team in Sydney. This role will see you develop skills in audio and broadcasting. This is a fantastic opportunity for a positive minded candidate who has a strong interest and thirst for technology, and wants to further his/her career in the media industry with some great brands.

 

Working as part of a team of Engineers, your key focus will be the installation and maintenance of on-air infrastructure and broadcast facilities including transmission, production, on air studios and outside broadcasts. You will also to provide efficient customer service and technology solutions to internal customers.

 

You will need to have a strong customer focus and excellent verbal and written communication skills to allow you to build relationships with key stakeholders within the business. You will also require good problem-solving skills to enable you to support the Technology Manager in ensuring project deadlines to be met. The role will involve compulsory participation in the on-call roster for after-hours support, and working shifts covering both ends of the day.

 

Your experience in a similar role, combined with relevant electronics qualifications will ensure your success in this position. Experience as a Technology or Support Engineer in commercial radio or TV will be beneficial or you may also have worked in a production house or similar environment. A qualification in IT, electronics or telecommunications (or current study in one of these fields) will also be beneficial.
