We are looking for a senior Journalist to join our team as the Sydney News Editor. You will be responsible for identifying, creating and delivering compelling news to a targeted audience, while having a high level of experience and competence.

In addition, as a senior member of the Sydney News Team, you will work in conjunction with the Head of Audio News and Current Affairs to educate, motivate and hold the News Team accountable for creating proactive and compelling news on emerging platforms, to embrace future changes in a positive fashion, and to provide ongoing support to LiSTNR news programs including YMA and The Briefing

Make no mistake, we are looking for the best. As the successful applicant you will have:

  • Extensive full-time commercial radio experience
  • Superior understanding of Audio-On-Demand products and experience managing news related facets (Highly Desirable)
  • An ability to convey news information by adopting a range of styles, tools and techniques appropriate to the audience and the nature of the information.
  • A confident, conversational reading style which suits our brand
  • Can produce accurate, punchy and creative bulletins targeted to a specific demo
  • Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Understand social media and how it relates to newsgathering and story creation
  • Demonstrated experience empowering and developing journalists within the context of teams
