We are looking for an energetic and motivated Corporate Counsel to join our in-house legal team, commencing in June 2021.  

Reporting to our Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs, you will need to be a trusted adviser, supporting our business to implement effective decisions and actions while managing legal risks and requirements. 

This role is available on a part-time basis (3 days per week) and SCA offers flexibility through our SCA YourWay program. This rare opportunity also offers the ability to be based in either Sydney or Melbourne, flexible for the right candidate. This role supports our business in all Australian states and territories.

You’ll help prepare, negotiate and advise on contracts for technology partnerships and services, ad campaigns, program supply, on-air talent, and music, video and content licensing; manage risks of on-air and online content, trade promotions, advertising scripts and handling personal information; and guide the business on managing complaints and regulatory investigations.

No two days are the same at SCA. To succeed in our fast-paced, collaborative environment, you’ll need:

  • At least three years post-admission experience in private practice or in-house
  • Substantial experience in relevant areas of law such as technology and commercial contracting, intellectual property (trade marks and copyright), privacy, and consumer law,
  • To be well-organised with attention to detail, meeting deadlines and managing expectations
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound legal research and problem-solving skills
  • A track record of building trusted working relationships with your own team and your clients
  • To be a team player – able to work well on your own and as part of a team
